I know you know how much I am against any kind of animal testing, especially cruel testing for the sake of our beauty needs. You don't have to be a huge animal lover to admit that it is unfair and wrong. So I have been trying out various cruelty free products for the last few months so I can tell you guys, my friends, family, acquaintances, what is worth buying, not only because it's cruelty free, but because these products are actually great. This is an ever-growing list, so I will keep trying and adding. I hope you like it and take something away from this. Most of these are available at Rite Aid and any Vitamin Shop and Natural Product store near you. I guess my main point is that we do have a choice. We can choose to use products that are heavily tested on animals because they are polluted with chemicals, or we can use natural products that don't come with the cost of innocent life.
Lip care
Carmex - They don't test on animals, and their products do not expire! Not to mention the lip balm I've been using feels great, plus the added benefit of sun protection means that you can't go wrong. It's not greasy and it's great for people with sensitive to normal skin. Price range is $1.99 - $2.99 depending on where you are.
Alba Hawaiian Lip Balm - These are delicious. They have SPF protection and come in yummy flavors. I like the Passion Fruit one. Prince range is $3.99 - $4.99
Hair Care
Alba Botanical -They have a few lines, but you will probably see the Hawaiian Hair Care line. I've tried them before, so I can say that they do leave your hair feeling soft and silky, and they smell great! Their products are not cheap, but you do get what you pay for. Prices vary around the country, but usually about $8 - 12.
Organix Hair Care Line -I'm using the Tea Tree shampoo right now, and it builds up into a very thick lather. It smells great and leaves my head feeling nice and cool. Most of the ingredients are organic, including the packaging. They do not test on animals or use animal by products. Their shampoos do not dry out your hair, instead leaves it feeling clean and refreshed. The conditioners are not greasy. I've also used the Coconut Milk shampoo, and I recommend it for anyone who has ultra dry and damaged hair. $6.99 at Rite Aid.
Freeman Beauty - Probably the most inexpensive out of all of these, but also a more extensive line of products. They have botanical shampoos and conditioners, as well as styling products. I've used them too, so I can say from experience that the products work well for the buck. They also have foot care products. The papaya healing lotion for my feet did me a lot of good right before summer. Prices vary from $2.99 - 6.99
John Paul Mitchell Hair - Products are cruelty free and environmentally friendly. Real products are only available in salons apparently, meaning the bottles we see in Rite Aid are diversion bought, so they may or may not be real. There is no way of proving whether they are or aren't, so I guess paying over $10 a bottle isn't worth the risk. Buy it from your salon.
Jason Hair Care Line - If you have ever been to a Health Food Store, you have seen Jason products. They are a super old company and only make natural products. I am trying the Tea Tree Oil shampoo and conditional right now. They also have body wash, face cleansers, lotions etc. Basically a complete line of natural and cruelty free products. Prices vary across the country and depending on the store. I bought my shampoo for $10.99 and conditional for 10.99.
Body Wash & Soap
Beauticontrols - Spa Sugar body wash. The only problem is with this is that you have to order it online. The whole company is based on "Women helping others." Maybe one of you want to give it a try, I don't know anything about the quality.
Medimix Ayurvedic Soap -I've been using this for the last week. It's made of 18 roots and herbs, 0 animal byproducts, and not tested on animals. It doesn't smell as good as other fruity soaps and stuff, but as a natural product you don't have to worry about chemicals. It's really not for people with super sensitive skin, but I know it will be a great product for normal skin types. $2.99
Tom's of Maine - They also have a full line of products which are mostly natural. I'm using the unscented moisturizer soap bar right now. The only problem with their line is that the company has been bought by Colgate, who is known to do animal testing for a wide range of products. Although Tom's of Maine is continuing to offer cruelty free products, you money is still going to Colgate. I had to suck up that fact for the time being because I haven't been able to find a soap that my skin won't react to, but here is to hoping and trying. Prices vary.
Bronner's Magic Soap -Dr. A few of my friends swear by this, because apparently you can use it for everything. I love the tea tree version of it (yes I love my tea tree). You can use this for 18 different purposes, so having it around the house makes you a winner! LOL. $6.99 - 10.99
Skin care
Boscia - has a full line of products available at Sephora. Prices vary.
Avalon Skin Care Line - They have everything from cleanser to toners to anti-wrinkle defense. Right now I am using the Vitamin C face cleanser and moisturizer, it smells awesome, and leaves you feeling energized in the morning. The moisturizer has sunblock added so it's great for mornings. Prices vary.
Alba Hawaiian Skin care line - I've been using an eye serum that feels so cool and comfortable. It's resigned to detail moisture in your eye area, since you aren't really supposed to use regular moisturizer around there. The skin is more sensitive than the rest of your face, plus it's a first step to wrinkle defense. Prices vary.

Deodorant
Crystal -Unscented and super natural. I use this because I can't use anything with perfume directly on my skin, but this deodorant works great. It's clean and does not leave white stains on your clothes. It's made of minerals. I believe they also have scented versions. $3.99 - 5.99
Tom's Of Maine -They have naturally scented and unscented solid sticks that smell great. $4.99 - 5.99
